On March 12th the second phase of Bringing Technology Home: A Computer Education Initiative of the Family First Plan was launched at Jordan Downs. Currently, 100 residents have received a donated computer after completing the training course. The computers were delivered and installed at the residents’ home thanks to help from HACLA staff , One Economy and Opportunities Industrialized Center (OIC) Los Angeles along with volunteers. The residents receive a monitor, computer unit, mouse, keyboard, and operating software. Each computer is set-up and connected to the community wireless internet service provided by AT&T. The homepage is set to the Jordan Downs website (www.jordandowns.org). |
